Post his retirement Mr Dinesh Balasavare, moved to Kamshet in 1998 and started doing organic farming. Couple of years later, he formed Co-operative of organic farmers of India and inspired more farmers to join him. Fast forward to 2018, he is now 87 years old and is still following his passion. He takes a lecture every Friday at Kaivalyadhama in Lonavala on "Why organic food is good for health".
COFI is now a group of 18 farmers, in foothills of Kamshet and has been engaged in organic farming for last 18 years. The group has been certified by PGS Council.
