Organic Moongfali / Groundnut
Largely used as the source of basic cooking oil, groundnut is much more than that. Using raw groundnut seeds are an excellent powerhouse of protein and source of unsaturated fats. Groundnut oil has been used in India for decades as cooking oil, but Indian cuisine also uses groundnut in other forms to extract a creamy flavour to the food.
Groundnut or Moongfali is a great source of fibre and plant-based protein. The unsaturated fat content in it is beneficial to reduce cholesterol as well as to maintain the health of the heart. It is also rich in Vitamin E, niacin, folate and manganese. Like any other member of the legume family, it contains antioxidants which can protect the body from various diseases and cancers.åÊ
Groundnut powder or roughly chopped groundnut is generally added to the food to add a little crunch and texture. It is a common ingredient used in Maharashtrian recipes, popularly added in Poha and also consumed as roasted snacks. Groundnut can be a great combination to add in your salads. It can enhance the taste, as well as give you a good crunch of proteins.
